Welcome to Mac Pelican
We are a boutique home, gift and accessories store, located in Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, VIC. Mac Pelican focuses on local talent, natural products and one off pieces. Stocking everything from buttery leather bags and belts, to embroided cushions, handmade jewellery and scarves, and whittled wooden skipping ropes.
In addition to the many local products there is the occasional imported gem to provide the store with a unique range of gift and home wares. And of course we cater for the little people too, with beautifully crocheted toys, organic baby products and gorgeous nursery artwork.
We hope you love our store as much as we do.
Where would you like to go? Undecided? Go to both - it’s easy with these stamp sets.
Ok, so maybe you don’t really want to sit at the kitchen table stamping and colouring in seaside and farmhouse scenes, but your children might, or your grandchildren? Or you might want to seal an envelope with a sailing boat, or put a few kanga’s on a card? Really, you can do whatever you like.
Each one of these stamps is locally designed and illustrated, then printed onto stamps and ‘rubberised’ (that was my word, not theirs). Timber is then locally sourced and prepared to mount the stamps onto and once this is done, the material for each bag are sourced, sewn and packed together with a gorgeous letterpress card to seal the deal. Thanks Two Degrees in Melbourne - what a champion effort, donchyathink? All local, all recycled, and totally ace and unique stamps.

We were among some very lucky punters who went to see the brilliant author, David Sedaris at the Arts Centre last week.
And lordy lordy did we laugh. Until our sides split. He read one of my favourite stories to us, about a trip he made to Daylesford on his last Australian visit. (Bear with me here dear readers, this will eventually make sense)..
So after a most hilarious journey, he ended up hand feeding a kookaburra (that he was scared stiff of) at The Lakehouse while having lunch there in Daylesford. He then went on to tell how he and his sister had learnt the song, Laugh Kookaburra Laugh at school in their younger years. Having no real idea at all about what any of it meant, they sung and sung and sung.
Which brings me to my next point. I have just this very moment received new items from Lark - in Daylesford…… See the way I did that there - I managed to talk up my favourite David Sedaris while incorporating Lark and the fact that they’re from Daylesford and threw in a little kookaburra magic, just because it all ties in beautifully with his story. See?
So come and meet little Lambie, Mrs Duck, Daisy Donkey and the little gnome rattles - they’re all very nice.

So, possibly I’m using a baby to sell a product here…. But…. I can’t really help myself can I?
I am reminding you of the gorgeous range of children’s bean bags in store from the lovely Cocoon Couture - for boys and girls, tiny and not so tiny.
And I’m also showing off. My new nephew Oscar. Who is the most handsome 3 month old you ever did see… wouldn’t you agree? Could you eat him? i could.
